Bradford has a further opportunity to impress the Big Lottery Fund with plans for the Park at the Heart – as a new stage of assessment has been introduced.

This new level will bring Bradford a step closer to creating a stunning park at the centre of the city, after the Big Lottery Fund announced that a final shortlist will now be revealed in late October.

The chosen schemes will receive a further visit from assessors, before travelling to London to present plans to the lottery panel. A final decision about which schemes will be awarded funding will be made in November.

The £24.5m City Park lottery bid, supported by over 31,000 people across the region, will create a unique, flexible space and provide a stunning area for community events and concerts which can be used throughout the year. Its position in the heart of the city will not only play a key part in the renaissance of the area, but will bring communities together by attracting more people into the centre.
